Making A Positive Impact: Remaining Patient, Active, & Hopeful Amidst Times Of Struggle & Change

As you read this, I could only begin to imagine the thoughts racing through your mind. -

Our immediate world is at a standstill, awaiting one of the most controversially-charged elections to end - to declare a winner. -

The minutes that pass us by in times like these often feel as though they age us immeasurably. -

We wait - powerless, anxious, determined - for answers, for change, for a miracle.

If you came to my blog to escape the realities of our country, I want you to know that there is and always will be hope; no matter how dim this life appears, you have an immeasurable amount of light left to contribute. This gruesome battle is not permanent.

1) You Have Power: Regardless Of Age, Status, Or Background, You Can Make A Difference

Despite it’s redundancy, it must be known that you are endless in supply of potential. -

No contribution is too small, no effort is to be neglected.

Your attempts to comfort, support, guide, educate, and aid others as well as yourself require strength and compassion - take pride in these victories.

If you cannot escape the looming conflicts and discrepancies consuming us all at present, please take the time to read the following:

You are valued. There is no set amount of accomplishments, victories, or achievements, merits, followers, etcetera, that could ever make your value increase. Your worth is not defined by these tangible ideals. It is simply innate and infinite.
You are a priority. No one individual or group of individuals is needed to warrant or authorize any aspect of your life. If you need a mental, emotional, or physical break, take it. If you feel alone, misunderstood, or mistreated, make yourself known and clear. Your story is just that: yours. Never allow others to write these crucial chapters for you.
You are seen. You are appreciated. You are influential.

You are needed. This world is not simply “lucky” to have you, it is better because of you, it longs for you and the boundless talents you offer.

2) Regardless Of Age, Status, Or Background, You Can Make A Difference

You are a friend, a sister, a brother, a daughter, a son, a cousin, a niece, a nephew, a peer, a colleague, a role model, and so much more than the person that greets you in the mirror.

You have a voice, an opinion, an idea, a dream, a motivation. No platform or foundation is more important than another. You posses the ability to invoke change and improvement, all within the mere confines of your mind and willingness to put it into action.

Your views matter. You have the freedom and ability to not only develop and refine them, but to spread them.

Utilize the tools at your disposal. It is the age of mass media, my friends. You have an abundant array of resources at your fingertips.

Research, communicate, and debate.

Never stop fine-tuning. You can always change for the better. You can always learn and grow.

3) Pain & Strife Are Not Permanent: Patience & Perseverance Are The Keys To Life’s Locked Doors

As an extremely driven and neurotic personality, I myself struggle to remain patient and diligent in the face of failure or disparity.

However, these are skills that we come to strengthen and develop, rather than those we simply possess or fail to possess.

Your life is cultivated by the paths you take, not solely by the destinations they bring you to.

Your mistakes plant seeds within you that grow the roots of your beliefs, morals, and values.

You must experience your life to its entirety in order to change it.

When you are faced with events beyond your tangible control, it is vital to continue fighting, working, advocating, and making an impact.

It takes creativity and dedication to discover new ways to remain stable in a world that quite literally never stops moving.

I will keep this post brief, as I encourage you to further yourself in both your personal and societal battles.

Never stop fighting. We are a generation in desperate need of devoted, original, and forward-thinking leaders. You are the very person our future depends on.

Use your power. Do your part.

Do not undermine yourself or anyone else.
